This reverts commit f09ab88891, reversing
changes made to effc761e0e.
This is being temporarily reverted to make it easier to release an
urgent fix for v10.15.1.
* Update version parsing to allow rollback release
When we want to rollback a release on Chrome, sometimes we use the
fourth part of the version for the rollback release. This is because
the Chrome web stores does not directly allow rolling back, but instead
requires us to re-submit the release we want to roll back to with a
higher version number.
The manifest version parsing now allows for a fourth version part.
The comments have also been updated to be more descriptive, and to fix
a minor inaccuracy.

The Firefox extension version format does not support the version
format we use (SemVer), so we have to specially format the extension
version to be compatible. The format we chose was
`[major].[minor].[patch].[buildType][buildVersion]`. But when we tried
to submit a build with a version in that format, it was rejected as
invalid for unknown reasons.
The Firefox extension format has been updated to
`[major].[minor].[patch][buildType][buildVersion]`. This seems to pass
validation.
The `version_name` manifest field was being used on Chrome to store the
build type. However, Chrome intended this field to be a full
representation of the version, for display purposes. This was evident
when uploading this version to the Chrome Web Store, because it used
`flask` as the entire version.
Instead the `version_name` field now includes the full SemVer version
string. The version parsing code within the build script and in the
wallet itself have been updated accordingly.

The extension version used throughout the wallet is now normalized to a
SemVer-compliant version that matches the version used in
`package.json`. We use this version for display on the "About" page,
and we attach it to all error reports and metric events, so it's
important that we format it consistently so that we can correlate
events on the same version across different browsers.
This normalization step is necessary because Firefox and Chrome both
have different requirements for the extension version, and neither is
SemVer-compliant.
This reverts commit 466ece4588, which has
the message:
"Revert "Merge pull request #7599 from MetaMask/Version-v7.7.0" (#7648)"
This effectively re-introduces the changes from the "LoginPerSite" PR.
The notification manager has been refactored to use the extension
platform module instead of using `extensionizer` directly. The
extension platform API presents a more ergonomic API, and it correctly
handles errors (which the old notification manager did not). Methods
that the extension platform lacked have been added.
It has been updated to use `async/await` instead of callbacks as well,
for readability.
The `triggerUI` function has also been updated to use the extension
platform instead of `extensionizer`.

sidebar, if it is open. This was accomplished by pulling the click
handler for that button up to the wallet view component, where another
button already followed a similar pattern of closing the sidebar.

container component, and one was handed down from above, so I added
PropTypes to the container component.
I'm not sure that the WalletView component is the best place for this
logic, but I've put it there for now to be consistent with the add

There was a race condition in the logic responsible for switching the
selected account based upon the active tab. It was asynchronously
querying the active tab, then assuming it had been retrieved later.
The active tab info itself was already in the redux store in another

race condition was avoided by deleting the duplicate state, and using
the other active tab state.

The "redirect back to dapp" behaviour can be disruptive when the

only applies to the full-screen view, as that is the view permission
requests should be handled in. The case where the user deals with the

There was a race condition in the logic responsible for switching the
selected account based upon the active tab. It was asynchronously
querying the active tab, then assuming it had been retrieved later.
The active tab info itself was already in the redux store in another
spot, one that is guaranteed to be set before the UI renders. The
race condition was avoided by deleting the duplicate state, and using
the other active tab state.
* Only redirect back to dapp if current tab is active (#7621)
The "redirect back to dapp" behaviour can be disruptive when the
permissions connect tab is not active. The purpose of the redirect was
to maintain context between the dapp and the permissions request, but
if the user has already moved to another tab, that no longer applies.

The `getEnvironmentType` method now checks for the background
environment as well, instead of returning 'notification' for that case.
Instead of adding another regex for the background path, the regexes
for each environment have been replaced with the URL constructor[0].
This is the standard method of parsing URLs, and is available in all
supported browsers.

* Add note regarding a missing manifest permission
The `url` parameter to `tabs.query(...)` requires the `tabs` permission,
and will be ignored otherwise. We are missing this permission, so that
call does not work.
* Close window after opening full screen
The browser behaviour when opening a new tab differs between Chrome and
Firefox. In the case of a popup, Chrome will close the popup whereas
Firefox will leave it open. In the case of the notification window,
Chrome will move the new tab to the foreground, whereas Firefox will
leave the notification window in the foreground when opening a new tab.
We always want to close the current UI (popup or notification) when
switching to a full-screen view. The only exception to this is when the
switch is triggered from the background, which has no UI.
