The prop passed into the SignatureRequestHeader was changed from
`selectedAccount` to `fromAccount` in #8079, but the header component
itself was never updated to use the new prop name.
The header component for the new Signature Request screen has an
undeclared variable called `name` in it. This was present in the
original implementation of this component in #6891. It's unclear what
this was supposed to be, and it doesn't seem to reference anything that
exists.
The tests for the detect-tokens controller were nearly all broken. They
have been fixed, and a few improvements were made to controller itself
to help with this.
* The core `detectNewTokens` method has been updated to be async, so
that the caller can know when the operation had completed.
* The part of the function that used `Web3` to check the token balances
has been split into a separate function, so that that part could be
stubbed out in tests. Eventually we should test this using `ganache`
instead, but this was an easier first step.
* The internal `tokenAddresses` array is now initialized on
construction, rather than upon the first Preferences controller update.
The `detectNewTokens` function would have previously failed if it ran
prior to this initialization, so it was failing if called before any
preferences state changes.
Additionally, the `detectTokenBalance` function was removed, as it was
no longer used.
The tests have been updated to ensure they're actually testing the
behavior they purport to be testing. I've simulated a test failure with
each one to check that it'd fail when it should. The preferences
controller instance was updated to set addresses correctly as well.
Any action in the background that would have opened the notification
window will now focus the window instead if it was already open.
Previously it would leave the window unfocused. This was particularly
inconvenient when taking multiple actions in quick succession that all
require confirmations (e.g. triggering multiple transactions).
The notification manager has been refactored to use the extension
platform module instead of using `extensionizer` directly. The
extension platform API presents a more ergonomic API, and it correctly
handles errors (which the old notification manager did not). Methods
that the extension platform lacked have been added.
It has been updated to use `async/await` instead of callbacks as well,
for readability.
The `triggerUI` function has also been updated to use the extension
platform instead of `extensionizer`.
During the initialization of the full-screen or popup UI, we attempted
to close the notification popup (if it was open). This never worked (or
at least hasn't in a long time).
The method used to attempt closing the notification popup was
`closePopup` from the `notificationManager`, which keeps track
internally of the id of the notification popup window, and can close
the window by using this id.
However, this id is only set in the first place if the popup is opened
with this specific instance of the `notificationManager`. The popup is
never opened from the UI in practice; it's only opened from the
background (which has its own instance of `notificationManager`). The
popup id is never set for this `notificationManager` instance in the UI.
It's not entirely clear that we'd always want to close the notification
popup in this circumstance anyway. The user might want to open MetaMask
alongside the popup to check something else.
MetaMask would sometimes get into a state where the notification popup
would never open. This could happen if the notification window was
closed shortly after being opened. After this happened, no popups would
show up until after the extension was reset.
This was happening because the background thought the popup was already
open. The variable it uses to track whether the popup was open or not
was being set to `true` immediately after the background asked the
browser to open a new window, before a handler was attached that could
respond to the window being closed.
Removing this line seems to solve the problem.
This line was added originally in #5437, which dealt with batch
transactions. Batches of transactions seem to work just fine without
this line though (from local testing), and I can't think of why this
would be required.

This new checkbox component uses a plain `input` component internally,
so the browser treats it like a native checkbox. It is styled by hiding
the native checkbox and replacing it with Font Awesome icons (the same
that we are using in Figma).
Support for a 'disabled' state and an indeterminate state has been
added as well. The `onClick` prop has been made optional, as it may not
be required if the parent component is intercepting the click instead.
The `regular` Font Awesome font style needed to be added so that we
could use the `far fa-square` icon for the unchecked checkbox.
The "global" action constants (the ones previously in `actions.js`)
have been moved to a separate module. This was necessary to avoid a
circular dependency in an upcoming change that was causing problems.
In general the "ducks" pattern of organizing Redux stores does result
in circular dependency problems. This is because reuse of actions
between reducers is encouraged, so it's not uncommon for two reducers
to want to reference an action from the other. Going forward we can
avoid this problem by moving action constants that are shared between
reducers into this shared module.
This change replaces `getRenderablePermissionsDomains` with a new selector `getConnectedDomainsForSelectedAddress` that works better. The data returned from this selector is used to populated the _Connected Sites_ modal, which (as of #8262) didn't use most of the data returned from the old selector.
The old selector only looked at the first address that was exposed, making it not work for anything other than the first account connected to a particular origin.
The Font Awesome font wasn't loaded correctly in the Storybook build.
Unlike our other fonts, Font Awesome is copied from `node_modules` at
build-time rather than being saved directly in `app/fonts`.
The `copy-webpack-plugin` plugin is now used in the Storybook webpack
build to copy the fonts explicitly from `node_modules` into the build
output directory. The font now seems to load correctly in Storybook.
This action was never triggered in practice, as MetaMask is never
unlocked from the UI. The unlock always occurs as a result of a
background state update.
The last active time for each account in the Connected Sites list was
formatted as `yyyy-M-d` (i.e. without the zero-padding for the month
and the day). This didn't match the designs, isn't compliant with
ISO-8601, and generally isn't a common date format.
The month and day are now zero-padded.

There were two existing cases where a footer was added to a popover by
putting it in the popover contents. This has been refactored to place
the footer in the popover instead, so that styles common to all
popover footers could be shared.
The popover now has a `section` element instead, giving the `header`
and `footer` elements a correct section context.
The height of the popover is now set to a maximum of 94% of the
viewport height, rather than a static height of 564px. This setting
ensures that the popover has a maximum height of exactly 564px in the
popup, which matches the designs. However it is now able to shrink or
grow to accommodate larger viewports or smaller popovers.

The home container element's height was not set, so the lower half of
the home component was showing as the wrong color when the user had no
transactions or tokens.
This was broken in #8271, which was a fix for a different CSS problem.
Both problems should remain fixed now with height being set explicitly.
* Remove obsolete `flex` rule
This element is no longer within a flex container as of #8271, so this
rule doesn't do anything.
We don't need to store the current UI type as a global. We're already
using the `getEnvironmentType` helper function throughout the UI, so
we'd might as well use that instead of this global state.
The `History` title above the transaction history was changed in #8264
to only show when there are pending transactions, because it was
redundant to show an additional `History` title below a tab called
`History`. It was preserved when there were pending transactions
because the pending transactions are shown first in the list, followed
by the history, so the title served to divide the two lists.
This ended up breaking the fullscreen view though, which doesn't use
tabs yet. It has been updated to always show on fullscreen.
